Construction Continues !!
Construction in dubai continues in the downtown area. Most of the roads to bur dubai and satwa might be blocked soon for the construction of The Dubai Metro.
The Burj-Dubai construction continues and the opening has been delayed to june 2009. As of 19 February 2007, the Burj Dubai was at 114 floors and 436.38 m tall, surpassing the Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai as the fifth tallest building in the world. On 28th of January 2007, Burj Dubai reached the 109th level surpassing Chicago's Sears Tower's 108 floors as the building with the most floors in the world, and soon afterwards the World Trade Center's 110 floors, as the most floors of any building ever. Little in the way of curtain wall glass has been installed on the structure, but some sources say that cladding of the Burj Dubai may occur "sometime in April.
I have come across so many people in Dubai, saying, Why are they building such a tall building?
Do they want to have a bird eye's view over dubai? In short, What is the purpose of the Burj Dubai?
The answer to this question is
the reason they're building the Burj Dubai and other skyscrapers is reportedly based on the government's decision to diversify from a trade-based and oil-reliant economy to one that is service and tourism oriented. Currently, Dubai has a population of 1.5 million, with many areas of it still being desert land.
